PA - Polyamid (Nylon)

PA is a very good construction plastic with great strength and toughness.

PA is available in many modifications, partly in the form of PA6, PA6.6, PA11, PA12 and others. PA11 og PA12 are transparent.
PA6 and PA6.6 are the most commonly used for injection molding, partly with various additions such as glass balls, glass fibers and lubricants such as MoS2.
PA6 with fiberglass is a very strong, heat-tolerant material, but due to the glass content, the surface is not as attractive.

PA6.6 with MoS2 is a very suitable material for plain bearings and the like.

PA absorbs about 2% moisture and only has its full toughness when this has happened. Simultaneously with moisture absorption, a certain dimensional change occurs.

Typically used for adjusting screws, fin screws, wheels, bearings, spacers, sliding blocks, pipe joints, lighting parts, furniture fittings.

Maximum operating temperature, unloaded 100°C (glass-filled 110°C). 

Can be glued.

Density approx. 1.5 g/cm³. (PA6 30% glass)
