PE exists in different mixtures. Primarily, a distinction is made between Low Density and High Density types.
LDPE density approx. 0.92 g/cm³.
HDPE density approx. 0.96 g/cm³.
LDPE is soft, while HDPE is hard and rigid.
PE is a low-cost material with good chemical resistance, but sensitive to UV radiation, especially undyed.
Due to the good chemical resistance, it is practically impossible to glue PE parts.
PE is typically used for inserts for pipes, ferrules, spacers, fittings, packaging, disposables.
Maximum operating temperature, unloaded:
LDPE approx. 50°C and HDPE approx. 70°C
